This is an online class designed to prepare candidates for the FCC Amateur Radio Service Technician license exam. Candidate progress can be monitored by an instructor/mentor via email. Test and sample exam results can be shared with an instructor/mentor by entering an email address in the space provided with the test and sample exam facilities. Candidates can request assistance from a mentor/instructor by sending email via the help request link provided below.
NOTE: This class uses the NCVEC (2010 – 2014) Technician license exam question pool.
Exam Structure
The Technician license exam is a 35-question test. Candidates must correctly answer at least 26 questions to obtain a Technician license. The exam question pool contains 394 questions divided into 10 subelements (T0-T9). Each subelement is divided into groups (topics). There are a total of 35 topics. One exam question will be randomly selected from each of the 35 topics to make up the Technician exam. Table 1 shows the structure of the exam.

Class Structure
This is how the class works. Study the questions and answer explanations for all the questions in a subelement. Review the subelement flashcards until you are ready to test yourself on a subelement. When you think you are ready, test yourself on all the questions in the subelement until you are scoring 85 or higher on each test. Repeat the process until all 10 subelements have been completed. When all 10 subelements have been completed, test yourself with sample Technician license exams until you are scoring 85 or higher on every exam.
Question & Answer Explanation Display
After the explanations slide set loads, click the start/stop icon on the left side of the control bar to initiate the viewing session. To advance the slides, use the space bar, keyboard right arrow key, left mouse click (pointer must be inside the slide box), or the double right pointing arrow on the tool bar. To backup, click the left pointing double arrow on the tool bar. To view the slides in full screen mode, click the full screen icon on the far right side of the tool bar. Press esc to return to normal viewing mode.
Subelement Flashcards
Review the subelement flashcards until you are ready to test yourself on all the questions in a subelement. The subelement flashcard facility has options to display questions and only the correct answers, questions and all answer choices with the correct answer highlighted by hovering over it, and to check your answer choices.
NOTE: If the check my answer option is selected and questions are missed, an option will be provided at the bottom of the results summary to test yourself on the missed questions. Repeat testing until you correctly answer all the questions.
Subelement Tests
Test yourself on all the questions in a subelement. Continuing subelement testing until you are scoring 85 or higher on every test.

Sample Exams
When all 10 subelements have been completed, test yourself with sample Technician license exams until you are scoring 85 or higher on every exam.
